Home and Community Defense

Why This Class is Important

Your home is your sanctuary, but protecting it requires more than just owning a firearm. It demands a comprehensive understanding of home defense principles, preparation strategies, and how to act decisively under stress. While the risk of home invasion or burglary is statistically low, other risks may disproportionately affect our community. Understanding these risks is a critical part of being prepared:

  • Home Invasion: A forced, unlawful entry into a residence by an intruder with the intent to commit a crime, often involving theft, assault, or harm to the occupants.
  • Targeted Attacks: Potential consequences of political retribution, activism, journalism, legal actions, domestic violence, or other risks. These threats may disproportionately affect public figures and marginalized communities experiencing discrimination or exclusion from mainstream social, economic, political, and cultural life.
  • Civil Unrest: Public disturbances caused by a group of people protesting or expressing dissatisfaction, resulting in disruptions, property damage, or clashes with authorities.
  • Shit Hits the Fan: When normal legal and enforcement systems break down, leading to disorder, looting, and an absence of authority to maintain order and protect citizens.

This class equips you with the tools and knowledge to defend effectively and responsibly, no matter the threat. Our experienced instructors have guided countless students through the complexities of home defense, ensuring they feel confident and prepared for the challenges of defending their homes. This course is essential for anyone who takes their personal and community safety seriously.

In this module we will adapt principles of home defense to group settings for collective protection and community defense and explore strategies for working with others to ensure collective safety in your home or community.
