Overview

There are plenty of firearms classes you can take out there to get your LTC. Unfortunately:

No personalization Many classes focused on maximizing profits are created to pack as many people through the same class material. These classes may count for your LTC requirement, but often leaving little time or focus on students unique needs and questions. If you're going to spend the day on traiing, why not get the most out of it?
Lack of Inclusivity: Finding open, inclusive training is a challenge: Many of the same communities who feel the most at risk, also feel the least safe and welcome when attending firearms classes.
Conflicting Information: Thousands of free videos, blogs, and their comment threads offer outdated and often conflicting points of view making it extremely difficult to separate learnings from the noise and get questions answered by trustworthy sources.

Enter the Firearms Safety & Familiarization (LTC-019) course created by The Liberal Gun Club. This class is designed not only to satisfy MA state requirments to build general safety, operation, and maintenance knowledge of firearms but also to establish base competencies needed for responsible gun ownership in a welcoming and friendly environment.

The basic full day program covers the following areas:

Firearms Safe Handling and Safe Storage
MA and Federal Firearms Law Overview
Types of Firearms and their components
Loading and unloading and different types of ammunition
Shooting fundementals such as grip, stance, and trigger control
Fundementals of Concealed Carry such as gear selection, different carry positions, and lifestyle implications
Range Safety & Etiquette
Individualized guidance on how to practice after the class so you can continue your skill development as your budget and time permit

Cost

This class is offered in a "Pay what you want" donation model. You are encouraged to bring cash but donations via venmo or payplal are also possible.
